70 activsts gathered in front of detention center in Brugge. The goal is no deportation today.
From 6 of the morning about 70 people occupied the entrance of the center. Some of us were locked to the gate, for avoiding vans to bring migrants to airport for deportation. We wanted for one day protest against the inhumane and racist European migration policy stopping all deportation from the center. There was a positive mood, lot of motivation and energy, and the blockage was supported by a coloured and lively samba street band. Everything was calm till about 10, with few cops around and not many problem. At that time protests were starting from detained to the center as well, we could hear the noise from outside. A lot of anti riot cops started to arrived, andthe police start to be really stressed. They wanted to came in for stop the revolt, and theatened to evict us with violence, despite the blocage was completely peaceful. Some cops get inside of the building anyway(personal door was not blocked). After a while the started arresting activists opposing not-violent resistance, using quite aggrsive methods. If they are acting in such a violent way in front of camera, we are scared to what could have been happen to the detained in revolt inside of the center, which have not any guarantees against police abuse. But they couldn't breack the blocage, as they couldn't remove locked to the gate Afterwards, about 15-20 anti riot cops get in the building. We don't know what happened inside, hope repression was not too tough inside. They started then to chasing activist away staying aside for looking to what was happening. At some point they came out of the center with 2 arrested people sans-papier, but don't know more about them. They called firemen for removing people on the roof, but still they coudn't remove locked people. They tried therefore to put pressure on them in many way, including physical violence like putting handcuff on their feet for avoiding them to pee. But despite of all harrassments, they were really motivated and resisted till late afternoon. Right now there are still around 40 people arrested
